Kirsty is a PhD-qualified sports dietitian, with more than 18 years experience in high-performance sport and sports nutrition research and teaching. She has worked with a wide variety of athletes, from youth athletes and recreationally active adults, to the world's best in swimming, rugby league, rugby union and other sports. Her PhD studies were rich in biochemistry and physiology, making the application of science to people her strong point. Her research looked at how skeletal muscle burns fat during exercise and in people with insulin resistance. Her Masters degree studied the blood glucose responses to New Zealand foods. She is fascinated by how the human body works. Kirsty loves food, loves sport (although cannot profess to terrific abilities) and loves to listen to her clients. Hearing who they are and why they do what they do always inspires her. Come join her on your sports nutrition journey.
